Canadian author Morris Panych's play The Dishwashers, which has attracted worldwide attention, is preparing to meet theatergoers in Türkiye with an unusual interpretation. The play is directed by experienced theater person Işıl Kasapoğlu, while the energy on stage is shared by Özge Özprinçci, Ahsen Eroğlu, Şebnem Sönmez and Ekin Eryılmaz.

The Dishwashers, which will be staged with an all-female cast for the first time, will meet its audience at UniqHall on May 16 and at the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) on June 15.
The Unseen Face of Restaurants!
The play, which takes place in the dishwashing rooms, the unseen face of restaurants, focuses on the identities of four women lost in the routine of daily life, their inner conflicts and their struggle to be visible in society. The production in the black comedy genre is both entertaining and thought-provoking.
Criticism of the System
Panych's 2005 play is revived, this time from a female perspective, with director Kasapoğlu's interpretation. The characters brought to the stage represent women who have remained in the background not only of the theater stage but also of real life. The play's social criticism hidden behind the entertaining dialogues makes the audience both laugh and think.
Offering a harsh yet heartfelt narrative about social class differences, the burden of invisible labor, and women's place in the public sphere, "The Dishwashers" stands out as an example of a masterful blending of both humor and tragedy in theater.
